Here are the things I noticed finishing (at last) Diablo Project Alpha 4:
1) It is true that levels changes in Hell. The game from some reason changes map when a crash occurs or you leave it. If you load it you will see different map and you can end up stuck in the wall. Then only phasing or teleport spell will release you from this trap. But if you come to the town by portal, then, when you back to the dungeon you will see your first map. And again you might be blocked in the wall. You will enjoy playing the starting map of the level till next crash, after which the second map will be loaded. The game chooses from two maps of each level.
2) There is no automap in Hell at all - it is probably caused by map changing. Sad
3) The splint mail uses light armour picture although it is medium armour. So if you try to put it on the game crashes.
4) When I was in level 16 I got three times the same armour and ring. (weird, isn't it?) Shocked
5) You can't save game with opened town portal because when you try to load game, Diablo will always crash. Idea
6) I noticed that the further in the game the less bosses and shrines.
7) Sentinal and potion of experience are really imposing. I have also found armour which costs 115000. Surprised
I hope guys this will help you to improve Project Alpha 4 (if it still going on?). Wink

Hello. I have a huge problem. I'm on level 16 and I'm trying to clean it up but every monster I've met was the Blood Knight Shocked .The creature seems to be immortal, I can hit the Knight many times and it's still alive. In adittion, my Mana Shield doesn't work while it's attacking me (and its attacks are often very effective). Shocked Shocked I tried to defeat the monster with spells and I've noticed that I can petrify the Blood Knight using Stone Curse. If I hit the petrified one, it die after one blow Very Happy. Is there any other way to kill the Knight? (The monster attacks in groups and defeating one monster after another would take a lot of precious time Confused

Hi there,
I've just started playing alpha (I've been playing it for 5 minutes or something) and I've got some things to say:
1. Is it normal that there's no music? You can turn it on/off (doesn't even crash if you do so:P), but there's still no music.
2. In dlvl 1, I had to fight against an unique Ice Stalker (cool) called Bonehead Keenaxe (cool!!). He and his companions killed my lvl 1 Warrior with a few hits (not so cool). Shouldn't he appear a few levels later? I think he's too strong
3. If you want to walk, you have to click on the location you want to get to, but you can't hold the cursor in the direction you want to go. Is this a "feature" of the prerelease or can you fix it?

Anyways, the Alpha 4 is just plain cool!

2 and 3 are "features" of the prerelease and/or earlier beta versions.
1 is something *weird* with the build. The music *should* play, it's there but for unknown reasons it doesn't play the music.

yeah, that's one of the features that are in Retail and not in Pre-Release. BTW I think that the shift key doens't work too, but it's been a long time since I played Alpha the last time. I don't thing they'll fix it, as the goal of the Alpha is showing us how Diablo was meant to he. if they start adding retail features it won't be the alpha anymore, it would become a simple retail mod instead

you know i think that the harder monsters showing up on lower levels is acctually somthing that might have been modifyed for the alpha/beta/whatever-it-was release, seen as its only suppose to have the 1 level, they might have made it that you fight stronger monsters on the first level (so you could experience different monsters and have more fun and more challenge, like how the butcher is in level one), and consequently all the other levels have stronger monsters too, just like some of the place holder thing( book of novaness Wink )
